would you say that commenting about one friend to another is just commenting, chatting or bitchiness? when does bitchiness come into it? i know that someone has said something about me to someone else and dont know how to take it. what is the definition of gossiping amongst friends too? i would never say anything bad about my friends and hope my true friends wouldnt about me.

Talking about friends is icnluded under bonding, but being nasty is something else eintirely.
A good measure of the leve is to imagine the subject sitting in earshot - is what you are saying something that would hurt them, or make them angry, or something that you have heard, but can't know if it is true? Then it's bitching.
