hey, in general I have really clear skin, but every once in a while i get these horrible spots which just..lurk under the skin for a few weeks going all red and being quite sensitive, hurts when i touch them, like a bruise.  I had one on my shoulder months ago and the red mark is still there (i didn't pick at it or anything) It looks really ugly, I was wondering if anyone can think of anything I can use to get rid of the mark?

God, how I sympathise.  I still get them and I'm ancient!  I'm afraid that it's just time.  The mark will go in the end.  Well done for not picking!  That's my downfall.

Try wicth hazel ointment its usually quite good!

cocoa butter (i use palmers)is excellent for marks and scars, as it blends them into your skin. its generally for european types skin as they are more sensitive and scars are darker and dont go away. It works wonders and smells gorgeous too!

Hi try moisturising after every bath or shower you have this way you wont get them in the first place..

Basically if you have plenty of oil in your skin(which on your shoulder area where you sweat a bit you will) you are obviously dehydrated so the pores will be tight so lots of oil and tight pores = lovely red spots under the skin that seem to last forever. This is due to to too much oil trying to push through a small hole which basically blocks up.

Using a body scrub once or twice a week will rid of dead skin that may also block these pores but moisturising will help to widen and moisturise the pores so you will find that you won't get any. I used to have exactly the same problem and  started doing this about 8 months ago i have had about 2 spots since compared to my 10 a week previously try it honest it really works. Even if you can't be bothered to do your whole body just stick some on your shoulders. Will take about a week or so for you to notice that they are clearing up. Good luck...

Try Neutrogena Visibly Clear body wash, and use it every time you shower. It works wonders! Neutrogena also does a clear pore fascial wash which I hear is good too.
