''The gallbladder is a small non-vital organ which aids in the digestive process and concentrates bile''

I'll let you Google 'spleen' ;-))

I don't want to google it.

He's had his gall bladder removed, not sure about the spleen.....but the knife hit his spine and he's on life support. The knife snapped and stayed inside him. They said if the knife had come out he would have bled to death.

Anyway....she just wanted to know about the gall bladder.

Sorry snags....that sounded snappy. I didn't mean it to be :-)
I had mine removed about 5 years ago. The only problem I have, if I eat too much fatty food is I get a bit of discomfort just below the ribs where the gaul bladder used to be.

No worries... hope everything works out for the good...

BTW... we had a dog that had to have it's cancer-ridden spleen removed... the vet said he would be fine without it... and he was...

Having his spleen wouldn't have prevented him from being hit by a car would it?!
^ replace 'wouldn't' with 'didn't'...

I just got a text saying he's woke up but keeps pressing the morphine button.

He's a lovely boy and I'm just very worried :-(
my husband had kidney transplant 2 yrs ago - was hitting morphine button no end after it. Don't worry about that but he'll probably get very down for a while after he comes off it, he's just coming down and he'll be okay but it is worrying for a few days. Good luck to you both

These things are always hard, but soon he'll be on the mend and you'll be getting ticked off with him for all the usual things, but once in a while you'll stop and remember how you felt just now and you'll be so glad he's there to annoy you. Good luck again x
