why doesnt one have the right to kill themselves? its their body, their choice, they see no alternative, are very unhappy and no longer want to live. if for example i choose to eat strawberries today then thats my choice, if i decide to kill myself thats surely my choice to and has nothing to do with anyone else as things are relative to the act. your opinions please

please dont worry, im only debating the issue, both my friend's daughter and my friend herself have attempted overdoses. yes i do have relationship problems and feel cra* due to counselling but would never contemplate topping myself, i wouldnt give anyone the satisfaction.

my friend's daughter as i think i said took alcolhol and tablets and it was the alcohol that saved her. my friend, her mother is going through a bad patch again at the moment, off work from nursing and declared mentally unstable so cant be near drugs. she had worked so hard to qualify and now she has what she wants she was buliied etc in the workplace and is off sick. she says she has nothing else to live for if she cant nurse and that she doesnt 'believe' anymore. its so sad, i know her hubby got her sectioned once when she flipped. im intrigued to know about rights, her rights for example. surely as i said if you want to do it, go ahead as sad as it may be because there is no solution to that person's feelings all things being relative as they are so desperate and arent getting a solution to maybe something there will never be one for. it would crucify me if she did do it, surely sectioning someone is taking away that person's right to harm themselves. by the way, i think her daughter only did it because she knew her mother had done it, she was a teen at the time with her mother going through depression and her dad living abroad divorced. im intrigued to know too if its in the genes.
have just read the post.
In short no I dont believe people should be allowed to commit suicide. Life is so precious to us all and to families and friends. Suicide can be tthe easy way out rather than work through difficult issues, Often those that feel suicidal or attemt it are not wanting to die but struggling to live. With the right help and support life can get better and happiness return. Its hard to overcome difficulties but worth it.
The loved ones left behind after suicide often blame themselves for not noticing and they never fully understand why. It is easy to take a lethal overdose but much more courageous to work through diffficult situatuions.

Whilst it may not be genetic there may be a sort of environmental influence where families see it as a coping mechanism. Also if it is associated with depression then mental illness can be genetic
i want to kill myself too but dnt know how. can someone give me some tips plz? thanks
