MWB....that is quite normal, remember that you have a prosthesis and not a normal ankle.

Give it time MWB and remember that an ankle replacement is a bigger deal than a hip replacement as it is a more complex joint.

:) sqad.

But if the arthritic joint has been removed, wouldn't the pain be too? Well 99% of it.

And, I guess, the ankle is taking the whole body weight.

The prosthesis is really quite small. When I first saw it I was very surprised.
MWB....there needs time for the ankle to get used to the prosthesis and in the meantime there will be some pain.

Although the prosthesis is small, the complexity of the ankle joint isn't.

It will settle.
The thought of replacements makes me feel sick. I don't know why.

I hope you feel better soon MWB xx
ummmm....good morning my love.

One of my mates did my right hip replacement 25yrs ago and another mate did my left hip 20 yrs ago.

No problem with either hip in that time.

Thanks sqad.

BTW, what sort of surgeon were you before you retired?

Howdy, ummmm.
MWB....an excellent one ......LOL LOL
sorry...an ENT surgeon.
During replacement ops the muscles and other conective tissues get cut. The pain you're exeriencing could possibly be caused by them. It takes a while for muscles to grow back to how they were, in the mean time you will have pain and soreness. When you next see the specialist for a check up - bring the subject up.

I'm sure you were, sqad.

I'd of let you probe my ear canal anytime.

Lol.
Hello :-)
There is something a bit odd about surgeons who are friends operating on each other.

It must be easier when it is just a bit of meat on a slab.
Panic Button....LOL..ALL surgeons are odd.
