My husband has a repeat prescription for Gout and Cholestoral tablets (taken daily) and Arthritis relief tablets as when required.
We are travelling in Spain for the next few months and wonder if he can obtain these tablets using his NHS precription at their pharmacies.
Can anyone offer any help please?
Thanks

Cannot be 100% certain, but I don''t think that the Spanish pharmacies accept NHS prescriptions as there is no method of the Spanish pharmacies to being reimbursed.

All the tablets that you mention are available in Spain, but you will have to buy them.

Why can't you take a supply with you before leaving the UK?
Sqad is absolutely correct .AUK prescription is not valid in Spain. See your Doc take tabs with you., and a letter from him saying why you need them. There will be a fee for the letter, But prob solved , don't leave things til the last minute.

you can get 3 months worth of medication at a time, on one repeat prescription, you just need to ask your doctor. i would guess there must be some way of getting more than that to take away with you, so again, i would ask your doctor.
we regularly travel abroad for 2 months at a time and all my repeat prescriptions are for 3 months of medication.
of course - you could visit your surgery - explai the situation and get x months supply - I got 6months without any problem ... the red light flashes when you get 1 months supply evety week ... not if you ask for a supply you use
