SCHOOLS Secretary Ed Balls was at the centre of a storm last night for remaining on holiday on the day the A-level results were announced.

A storm? That's a bit of a nonsense, isn't it? I'm with squarebear. What's the point of him being around? What would you have expected him to do, AOG?

To compare the announcement of A-level results to the return of flag draped coffins is an insult not only to the men occupying those coffins, but to their families too. Nothing like making a mountain out of a molehill.

Maybe you should examine your priorities.

I believe there was a 97.5% pass rate. Not worth coming back just to look at the failures.

If you had read through my post properly instead of rushing to have a cheap dig at me, I was also saying what was the point of him breaking off from his holiday.

I also condemn your inference most strongly, that I in some way insulted the deceased or their families. I was in fact criticising the paper for the fact that it is much more important for ministers to respect our dead soldiers than to be around congratulating students.

I do not need the likes of you to suggest that I should maybe examine my priorities, I know what my priorities are, do you?

I don't do cheap digs. I comment on what I see before me. As far as I can tell there is nothing in the article about flag draped coffins. You made the correlation, and I do think it's an insult to compare the two - even in irony, as it now appears you did.

I'm sure you do know what your priorities are, but I'm very pleased to say that mine appear to be quite different.
