Do you recommend them? If so, anyone in particular? We're thinking of taking our 3 kids on one next yr, to save on constant hunger/thirst/ice cream demands! We just want to go somewhere, where the weather will be nice and has a pool included and a bit of family entertainment on hand. I've only ever seem to have heard stories of the 'inclusive' food & drink being disgusting, unless they've paid fortunes to go. Thanks in advance

I went to an AI place in turkey last year with Mr CRX and our children (aged 4 and 1) and we found it to be great.

Food could be had from 6am-1am and drink til midnight. Drinks were limited to locally available stuff (same with pretty much all AIs) but icecream for kids was the only disappointment we had. It was at 2 set times in the day only, and if they ran out before you got there then tough :(

http://www.thomson.co.uk/destinations/europe/turkey/turkey-antalya/side/hotels/pegasos-world.html is where we went and we are looking to book again this year as we were so impressed with it.
Sol Mirlos and Sol Tordos hotels in Palma Nova, Majorca were brilliant a couple of years a go, not very expensive but food was lovely, hotel very family orientated. Not sure if it will have changed now though, worth looking on a travel review site like tripadvisor.
The low's of all inclusive with children are..... Ice cream only at certain times, limit to flavours, could run out after queue same applies to drinks , children can be picky and not always much choice. The food part could be ok,they do have a choice but not always english so this can be limited choice for the children.Having been to an A/ I this year with three grandchildren I would not recommend it.There are alot of extras to pay for and it can become expensive.Just my thoughts ,you need to try it ,and then you can judge.g.
hey meg - i am interested in your replies as we are looking for the same thing. It will probably be the only time we all go away together and so i want it to be right!
We have to please a 6 an 8 and a 15 year old too! Not easy.
How old are yours? My eldest would love to go to italy or germany but i don't think you get your standard package hols there!
I dont have kids, but myself and partner will only go on All Inclusive holidays since our first one a few years ago. They are just great value, as long as you choose the right hotel. This year, we went to a hotel 3 miles outside of Ayia Napa, Cyprus. We didnt go for the nightlife so we were far enough thankfully. Food was great, entertainment for the kids and grown ups, kids club, pool, etc etc.

I would recommend booking with someone like Thomas Cook and Thomson (we booked with Olympic but they deal with greece mainly), and before you book, check websites like Tripadvisor.com to see what other people thought of particular hotels.

Been on a few A.I hols so if youve got any questions, fire away and I'll try to answer!
