Capsule Endoscopy Issue
5 Answers
I had one of these today. Swallowed the pill at about quarter to 9. The monitor lost connection with it at about 2.15pm just after I had been to the loo.
Could it have passed through that fast? I know my system is bad but didn't think it would be that quick and the leaflet says it can take up to 2 weeks to go through!
I guess it's that or the monitor stopped working but won't get to find out until the nurse has reviewed it and the gastro waiting lists are so long, no idea when I would get to have another one if it didn't work.

What did they say to you when you took the recording device back Jenna ?
She said to ring if the light stopped flashing. It stopped flashing blue and went orange instead after I went to the loo about 2.15 so I rang and left her a message but she was busy in clinic.
It then went off altogether.
I didn't get to see her til half 4 and she said it was possible it had passed through already but could be a malfunction and she would have a look today and let me know if they had got what they needed but I've not heard anything from her today.

Hi Jenna have you had any news yet? I hope they had enough images when they downloaded your info. If not I'm sure they won't make you wait for a second test now that you are in the system. I had to wait 9 months for my test so I know what you mean about NHS waiting lists. Anyhow I hope all goes well for you.
I spoke to the nurse earlier and she said that they had got the results ok and the camera had actually passed all the way through and out of my system in under 5 and a half hours!!! Not sure sure if that is a good or a bad thing though.
She has reviewed it but said she can't give me any results until the consultant has seen them so no idea really and might be ages if I have to wait for an appointment.
Did they manage to sort everything with you in the end?

They did sort me out but not straight away. I had quite a few more different tests and I have a wheat and lactose Intolerance. It has been quite hard to get used to the change in diet as wheat is in practically everything I like. So no more yummy chocolate eclairs oozing with cream for me I'm afraid. Still it could have been worse as they had thought I had Crohn's. I hope your results are OK Jenna, please let me know how you get on.
