I came off the pill about a year ago after about 5 years of taking it. My periods are not yet back to normal, i am having one every 8-10 weeks. Is this normal? If it is when should my cycle get back to normal?

How long have you been off the pill?  I was told, although I don't know this for sure, that it can take up to six months after coming off the pill that your body returns to 'normal' (depending on how long you have been on the pill I guess).  Also, the same amount of time that it should be totally out of your system and you can conceive.

Were your periods regular before you went on the pill?  Before I was on the pill my periods could be fortnightly or two monthly, all the women in family have irregular cycles, so this may just be normal for you.

I came off the pill after 11 years and had 5, 6 and 7 week cycles.  I also bacame pregnant (planned) without having a 28 day cycle so be careful you can still get pregnant.
I was on the pill for about 7 years continuously.  I came off the combination pill this year in Feb time as I suffered a bad migrane.  I went on the mini pill for a short time but didn't get on with it so came off it.  Waited a couple of months and went back on the combi pill only to get another severe migrane.  I've now decided that the Pill isn't for me.  I've been off it now for about 2 months and have just (this week) had my first period since then.  I kthink also that it does take around 6 months for your system to clear up/get back to normal etc.. but if you are worried, your GP should clarify things for you.
