Friendship Help

This is hard to explain. I'm gonna start from the beginning. I used to live 3 doors away from a someone. We moved last November and I saw her shortly after and she remembered me. I saw her a few times after that and she said knock at the house coz she had a present for me. I knocked and she gave me it and she gave me her home phone number coz she was in a musical and she said if I wanted to see it to ring and she'd get me tickets. Anyway...I saw her a few times after that and she's always been really nice and I've phoned a few times and chatted to her and I saw her a few weeks ago and I said I got her a xmas present and she said knock coz she'll get me one. I went but nobody was in so I left the presents I got with her sister and she said whats your number so she can ring you to come again when she'll be in. Anyway...she hasn't called to say thanks or anything. Do I take this as a hint not to go round or call anymore, or has she lost my number and wants to call to say thanks but can't, or should I call her? Coz if I call it just seems a bit desperate as if I'm calling coz I want her to say thanks, and I might wreck what could be a cool friendship. Help?!

I would just give a call to say "Hope you got the presents ok" and wish her well for Xmas.  Or call to 'check' if she's ok as "it's not like her" to not call when she says she is going to, etc.  Make an excuse for a quick friendly call and then it's done!

But why did she have a present for you in the first place?  I'm assuming you didn't know eachother that well?  What is the present you gave her?  What is the present she gave you?  Where did you see her sister if nobody was in?

Her sister was in the house so I left the present with her. I don't know what she's got me because I haven't got it yet and the present I got her was quite expensive. Well expensive for me, I'm a student. I'll just call and make an excuse. Thanks Natalie :-)

You have got nothing to lose to be fair so call her.  If you call her at least you'll be closer to knowing were you stand but if you don't call then you may never speak again.  The longer people leave it to get in touch, the harder it ends up being.

I called today and she said she was planning on calling me on Christmas day after she opened the present. Phew! Thanks guys :)
