My doc wants me to have one of the above.

However, because I haven't had children she reckons I will have to have a general as my cervix won't have stretched!!

To be honest I find having a smear painful so am really not sure about this.

Anyone had one of these and how did it go?

Thanks

I've had two and never again without a general anaesthetic! This wasn't offered to me and I have no children either. Go for the general in my opinion.
I've not had one but wonder if this might help.

I had one many years ago for infertility investigations without anaesthetic(fortunately went on to have two children. I consider I have a very high pain threshold and it was excruciating, childbirth was infinitely preferable.
Chickadee - go for the general.
i've had the hysteroscopy twice First one without and next with a general. My goodness - go for the general anaesthetic please!!!
I'm having one on Monday under general and am scared stiff, no children either and not the most steady nerves when it comes to all things hospital. Wish me luck!
