RDA vitamin c

does anyone know if the RDA for vitamin C is same for adults and children (60mg)....according to bassetts and haliborange its definatley 60mg for children but surely an adult would have more. (for a nutrition assignment (scurvy) FOR UK ONLY thanks

Zac's link is to a US Government website. The UK is governed (in respect of food labelling) by EU law. See table 2:

The FDA's rulings and guidelines are often at odds with those of the EU. (For example, the FDA's view of GM foods is very different to that of EUFIC). Since the questioner put 'FOR UK ONLY' in bold type, I thought best to provide a link to the body which provides the RDAs for this country.

It doesn't predispose anything, Zac. The questioner asked what the recommended daily allowance is for Vitamin C in this country. If EUFIC recommended 1 tonne of vitamin C per day it would clearly be erroneous, but the correct answer to Ilovemarkb's question would be '1tonne'. An RDA might be right or wrong, but it's still an RDA.

Looking at this website-I find it fascinating that the UK RDA is so much lower than that of the US in most cases.....I wonder why.
