How did evrything go last week, have been thinking of you both.

Hi mamya. Sorry didn't see earlier. All went ok last week and he had felt fine till last night. Gary was a bit shocked when the surgeon told him how big an operation it will be and how long it will take to recover. He came in from work and wasn't feeling well at all. Had a sore throat, chesty cough and felt really tired so as per hospital's instructions I phoned the emergency help line. They told him to get to hospital straight away to get checked out as apparently the first 7-10 days of chemo can really hit you hard. He was at the hospital for 3 and a half hours while they checked his blood count but finally sent him home at 4 am with antibiotics for a viral infection. He's not been too good today so just been resting.

I think it's just hitting us both that this is not going to be a quick fix and we should be prepared for this to change our lives completely. I think I personally was still thinking it was going to be 2 lots of chemo and then an operation and then he would be fine, but have to accept that the reality is going to be a lot different.

Its not an easy road babes and I do understand, with one of Bill`s chemo he got chest pains and we thought it was indigestion, but little old me googled and found it was a rare iside effect. I got in touch with the consultant, who agreed and offerred me a place on his team. Always ask as you did and you will get there.
