My step-sister went to see one today and rang me all excited because she said my mum came through who died last year. The fortune teller said my mum had 2 dogs and 2 dogs at her feet, told my step-sister several things including mentioning me by name ( a quite unusual name).
I'm a bit nonplussed by it all and don't know whether to believe or not. What do you think about this kind of thing?

I had a reading when I was 17 and the fortune teller said she could see a man in uniform (my biological father was a policeman) and a drink problem (he had one of those). Next weekend I got done for underage drinking.
Was it a pre booked appointment? If so then the medium had plenty time to do some research.

I understand your question Count but no apparently she rang at 1 and was in by 4.
Lol sherrardk!
i believe prudie!! ive been loads been told loads....as have several friends xx
I have a tendency to believe certain ones. I went to see one quite a few years ago and she told me things that no-one else would have known apart from close family.there was no way she could have checked up on me as I was in another part of the country at the time.
4 hounds? Or was it 4 pounds? Innuendo upon innuendo...

..yes - Purride is an unusual name.
I visited them years ago, what they knew about me and my past was quite amazing.
However, future predictions were a bit iffy. I was constantly told I would have twin girls, I have 3 sons and aquired two border collie litter sisters who I assume where my twin daughters..
One once told me I would die in an aircrash when I was 36. That really put the wind up me and 30 years on I'm still really up tight about flying in case she got her timing wrong!!
Ask yourselves - if she could genuinely see the future, wouldn't she know the Lotto results for next week?
Pure trickery. I saw Paul Daniels saw a woman in half but knew it was a trick. 3 hours gives her plenty of time to research your step sister.

These people prey on the gullible and should not be given any money.
These people just generalise and tell you things that could apply to many different people. They also elicit information from you without you noticing and then feed it back to you in dribs and drabs. They are all charlatans in my opinion, every single one of them.
I'll try and find the thread but someone here was doing a bit of cold reading, saying things like "you have a great sense of humour but can be serious when needed" and the replies were lapping it up saying how could they know! You;re amazing and so on.

I'll see if I can find it.
there are some con artists out there but i think you know who those ones are as soon as they open there mouths. Ive seen some fab ones that have been recommended and have been blown away with things that they have known.. I am a huge believer :-)
These people have been proved to be fakes so many times, I don't know why people continue to go to them!!!!
We hired a guy to come to my pal's house to do a reading - he was a bit hit and miss with his predictions.

He actually stayed near my mum and at a visit to her a few weeks later she said - "see that fortune teller guy's boyfriend dropped dead. You would think that he could seen that coming."

A true story, but it is a good joke too.
It's a load of rubbish, but where there are gullible people there are people ready to take advantage

thanks for all your answers, I remain very open-minded. BTW I meant 2 dogs and 2 cats at her feet. That bit is comforting because it means maybe i'll be reunited with a much beloved dog one day.
I had heard about them getting info from you without you noticing so I made a conscious effort to say absolutely nothing and didn't confirm or deny anything he said. And as it turns out the stuff he said was spot on, knew stuff that was down to the last detail and even things I thought hmm don't know about that, when I checked it out later he was right! Oh and he said my hubby would get a job with a uniform. Not a chance in hell I thought ... guess what happened though!! So I think yeah there are some iffy ones out there but on the other hand there are some true ones.
Some very reliable and accurate con artists!! its all hogwash!!!
