Hot tub in pregnancy

Hi can anybody tell me if it is safe to use a hot tub in pregancy (early stages).

Its not the tub per se its the bugs....I would only use if it was new water in a clean (pipes as well) tub alone or with people who i knew were clean and wouldn't pee in it......

sanden.....bit controversial, but the bottom line is that in my opinion you should avoid hot tubs in any stage of pregnancy.

Thanks for all the answers. My daughter who is pregnant is due to go away shortly for a weekend to a lodge with a hot tub which she was so looking forward to, but as we thought, it seems that it wont be a good idea to use the hot tub. Thanks for all your help.
