Have you ever wanted the ground to open up and swallow you over something you said?

I remember my ex wife bumping into a lady she was in hospital with where they both had babies on the same day.
The lady was so delighted and fussed over our baby, my Ex said "how is your baby" she replied he died 1 week after he was born :-(
We both just wanted to be somewhere else immediately!! we really felt for her but didn't know what to say.
Have you ever been in a similar position?

I am not over impressed with this Home - in fact while I was there on Monday - another resident (who is on the lively side) was punching the hell out of another old lady - I stepped in to stop her as there was no carer about - even my poor Mum tried to help.
I think this is how her glasses got smashed a few weeks ago, by this woman. I did notice my Mum had a nasty bruise on her wrist, which nobody could explain how she got it.
I did manage to get to my car, before I sobbed my heart out - so I am improving, I normally start in the lift !!

aah Den53.. just had to say how sad I am to read your posts here.. It must be so hard for you to see your Mum in a home now.
Keep an eye on the staff and other resident behaviours and if you have any doubts about the quality of the home.. move her!
My Grandma was in 3 homes before we found one where she was properly looked after! Unfortunately its not easy to find a good one with good staff!
