My mother in law was shivering (with temp) and throwing up yesterday. She's got an infection in her finger so thinks it could be that. She is back in work today, feeling fine.
My daughter is supposed to go there tonight after school (I'm working) but I'm tempted to ask my father in law to bring her straight over to ours so that my mother in law doesn't see her (just incase it's a bug).
What would you do? Assume it was the infection and don't worry or try and keep my daughter away from her for today? Thank you
P.S I really hate sickness bugs and really don't want my daughter having one.
In the NHS you have to be 48 hours symptom free before you are considered 'safe' how old is your daughter...? if she's quite young I wouldn't risk it... and MIL is a bit irresponsible going to work today as if she starts vomitting again or develops the squits she may give the bug to her colleagues. Hopefully it is just her infected finger though.
my kids have recently had sickness bugs (just 24 hour ones thank goodness) but school said my son wasnt to go in for 24 hours after last episode and nursery said my daughter couldnt return for 48 hours
as you dont know what the cause of sickness was i would probably try and avoid MIL for 24-48 hours just in case.
I agree, she shouldn't have gone back to work. She works in a school.
I definitely want to keep my daughter away from her as it's too much of a risk and we don't know for sure if it was the infection. I've told my husband to speak to her and tell her that we just want the father in law to look after her.
I will go mad if she sees her tonight and she catches it. Thanks
