Reading the shampoo post I starting wondering if there was conditioner when I was younger. I dont remember mum washing my hair with it, just shampoo. And I'm sure that the combing of my hair wouldnt have been as painful as I remember? Was it just coz I was a child or was conditioner not about then? (about 25 years ago) I also remember going swimming with the school and I'd forgot my shampoo and gave me some of hers and it was 2 in one. First time I's used conditioner.

ttfn. Mum bought an electric convector heater - before that the only heating was the coal fire in the living room. Used to plug it in in the bedroom whilst I dressed standing astride it to keep warm!!
mrs.c - bolsters! When Big Sis and I had to share a 4 foot bed the bolster would be put in the middle of the bed lengthways to keep us from kicking each other in our sleep.
Lottie, I remember being tucked in so tight, an seeing the ice forming on the inside of the windows in our cottage................happy childhood nevertheless!...............

It certainly was the way to get dressed quickly though Lottie. In a really cold winter everyone brought their clothes downstairs to dress in front of the open fire. Someone is gonna mention liberty bodices again soon.....................................
Am now off to bed. Nice memories! Thanks for this thread 4get.

Nite nite, everyone, sleep tight.
That's it, ttfn. Wonder if you can still buy them now?
Sweet dreams Lottie ttfn xx
They were quite hard mrs.c unlike the pillows. Shouldn't think anyone would sell them now - just dozens of pillows in reducing size order to get flung on the floor at bed time - what is that all about?
Sleep tight Lottie. x
I always wondered that too.
Oh ttfn, I remember wearing a liberty bodice, we wore them from October till April whatever the weather!.............
Night now Lottie! sleep tight..................Nos Dda!..................
I feel older than Whistler's mother now. 4get - forgive us our trespasses but it is obviously the domain of the older generation. Whoever said that nostalgia aint what it used to be is so very wrong :o)
Might as well get hung for the adult carcass then

I well remember the tin bath in front of the fire, you might find this episode amusing. One of the neighbour's sixteen year old daughter was in the bath when there was a knock on the front door & her mother let the insurance man in, the girl squealed mom what are you doing & mom replied what's the matter with you girl it's only Ted.
LOL @ ron
