I have always had a great deal of milk and cheese in my diet. For a while now, when I consume cheese it causes me to have very bad wind. But recently on two occasions when I have either consumed large amounts of cheese in one day or yesterday when I had a goats cheese tart, I felt bloated, nauseous, sensitive skin, wind and generally felt pretty terrible for at least 24 hours afterwards. Is it possible to develop an intolerance at my age (29)? TIA

Lactose intolerance in adults is very well documented and is relatively common as is the development of milk intolerance.

Thanks to you both. I hope it isn't a milk intolerance, I drink it by the gallon
Hi Mountain, I went through a phase of this when I was 26. I cut out all dairy for a few months then gradually reintroduced it (being careful not to have too much) and the problem has practically gone away - but the odd pizza binge can bring the symptoms all back!
