Yes, thats why its called an annual jab,its a two in one swine/ flu jab this year.you should check with your surgery that they still have vaccines left, you might have been overlook if you didn't receive a invite letter back in October.
Thanks all. I had never had a flu jab until last year, because I have never had flu, when my Doctor phoned me and said because of a heart defect I was in the at risk category, but this year I have had no call.
Midge, this year's seasonal flu jab was combined with swine flu vaccine, so you would have had both - you need one every year since the strain is different for seasonal flu. Not having had flu doesn't mean you should never be offered - I've had flu twice in my life and certainly make sure I get my jab each year, I don't want it again! As is suggested, check with your surgery - it may have just been a mistake, and I only had mine in November,
If you have had no call, call them. Flu is no joke and I don't mean man flu either. If you want to collapse into your bed with your head practically falling off your neck with the pain while the kids playing happily downstairs sounds like a herd of elephants gallumphing through the bedroom and paying special attention to your aching limbs then don't bother, but if it means you will escape this then get on the phone right away. I mean this, I have only had "proper" flu twice in my life and both times it was not nice. I forgot to mention the cough - deep and chesty.
I have just called my surgery and they are looking into it - the receptionist says I am not eligible because I'm not 65 - I said it's funny last year the Doc rang me to tell me I was an at risk person - so I must not be this year !! We will see what transpires.
