Are love bites dangerous?
63 Answers
I've got a couple of lovebites at the moment. My friend was horrified when she saw the one on my neck (I didn't tell her I had one on my nipple) and said you can die from them. I told her not to be stupid (I've had quite a few in the past) but now I'm secretly worried.

You can have a lot of fun but still maintain some class about it.
Like any "wound" there can be complications like infection. Unlikely but it can happen.
A friend of mine thought it would be funny to jump on me and give me what was effectively the same as a lovebite (not like that, he's not one for the ladies lol), it got infected and spread and was very painful and unpleasant looking, was even less impressed than the fact he did it to me in the first place.
I'm my no means a prude but a little class can go a long way.

The secret to a long and happy life Dollypins is to not worry too much what anyone else thinks about you. You'll always get those that think that lovebites are the sign of a trashy person, just as you'll always get other people who don't give a rat's ar5e, you just need to be discerning enough to decide whose opinion matters, and for my own it doesn't bother me one bit whether I see people with or without them because if you judge someone by a lovebite then you've probably got more problems than them;-)
Oh and by and large they aren't dangerous.

Ahh Paul, you're lovely!
Hello lovely Nox. I have to say my opinions have had to change a little on some things because of my career and places I've worked. I had to ditch the nosestud from my first legal job as it's just not seen as acceptable. Remember one of the lads at one place being banned from certain floors until he got his hair into a more "acceptable" state and someone being told at an internal interview that she used too much eye makeup. It's a very appearance driven industry in many respects. If I turned up with a lovebite or tattoo or mad hairstyle etc... in that kind of environment it would not go down well.

I'm an oap but I remember many moons ago my then BF used to do that on me, I hated it. I found out later he was in competition with his mate with his gielfriend, who could do the biggest and the pair of them used to compare. I used to put a plaster on it. I made the excuse I had a boil coming. I soon dumped him.
