muffin top and the special k diet

How do you get rid of your muffin top?!
I looked up the weight for my height and i am about right.. just in the category overweight but i don't mind losing a bit more weight. i eat realtively healthy and gym at least 3 times a week (probably about 5 or 6 days a week on holidays usually) but i just can't shift this band of fat around my tummy! i'm happy with my legs they are pretty long so that's good it's just my tummy.. i don't get it if i am pretty much the right weight? how do i get rid of it it's annoying me soooooo much lately! at the moment i'm about a size 12 though it varies, i would ideally like to be a size 10 (maybe size 8 but it might be too skinny!)
anyone tried the special k diet? does it work? sounds what i need - drop a dress size in 2 weeks or whatever it is!

Pinki - sorry to contradict, but "natural" carbs and sugars are found in fruit and veg. Its is processed carbs you should avoid on a diet. A staple diet consists of fruit and veg otherwise your energy levels are depleted and after 4 weeks excercise would become hard and you may be unable to excercise to the level. I dont claim to an expert, especially on diets for women, I have worked with male athletes and bodybuilders in the past and my knowledge comes largely from that. And I dont want to confuse Sophie, if you say cutting the carbs totally works, I will leave it at that!
a lower carb diet increases the ratio of fat to lean tissue loss, as a muffin top is mostly fat, it along with other fatter bits should shrink other low calorie, low fat diets tend to involve a slightly higher lean tissue loss unless you continually rebuild it with exercise some people find the shorter term more targeted approach more effective...

I would suggest being sensible with carbs rather than cutting them out completely. You need to increase your muscle mass a bit. Obviously don't eat too much fat, get your sugars from fruit not dessert etc.
Anyone who tells you to do sit-ups to get rid of belly fat is wrong - you can't "spot burn" or similar.

If you stop all sugar for a few weeks you will see you'r waist shrink. I have just done it as the only place I had any fat was on my belly and I had muffin tops. I lost 6lb and it all came off my middle.
Sugar is in food than you would'nt think, I got a shock, it's in milk-bread-low fat marg etc..... I googled "how to loose belly fat" and watched a video about all the foods that has sugar in and how eatting sugar makes the fat stay on you'r belly...
