muffin top and the special k diet
46 Answers
How do you get rid of your muffin top?!
I looked up the weight for my height and i am about right.. just in the category overweight but i don't mind losing a bit more weight. i eat realtively healthy and gym at least 3 times a week (probably about 5 or 6 days a week on holidays usually) but i just can't shift this band of fat around my tummy! i'm happy with my legs they are pretty long so that's good it's just my tummy.. i don't get it if i am pretty much the right weight? how do i get rid of it it's annoying me soooooo much lately! at the moment i'm about a size 12 though it varies, i would ideally like to be a size 10 (maybe size 8 but it might be too skinny!)
anyone tried the special k diet? does it work? sounds what i need - drop a dress size in 2 weeks or whatever it is!

why should anyone...particularly a young girl like sophie...have to take 'other' things to keep her energy up? Has anyone forgotten that's what food is for? Slow release carbs and a sensible intake of fruit is what she-or anyone else needs.
Quick fix is ok for an adult...but sophie is still a growing girl, and should not do anything that is so drastic.

Thanks you guys are a great help!
Ok so basically if i was going to do the cut out carbs thing.. just have no bread and pasta etc whatsoever? you mean those kind of carbs right? what can i have as an alternative e.g for lunches and breakfast (please not cereal everyday!)? i may do this in my weeks holiday i have coming up and continue going to the gym but are you sure this won't damage my health/growing?
If not, special k diet?? anyone tried?
And also... otherwise just generally eat healthy and for the gym i usually do about 25mins (300-400 calories) on crosstrainer, 1000 (60 calories) on rowing, then 100 calories on biking and running for 5 mins if i can be bothered (usually not!).. but i should include more weights? not a heavy weight though.. do light weights at a fast speed type thing?
sorry i do now sounds obsessed with my weight - but 100% im not becoming anorexic or anything do not worry i just want rid of this flabby bit!!! hahaha

As I understand it one can have very limited success in trying to spot reduce one area of yourself. Diet or exercise. Best one can hope for is to lose weight such that the balance between the bits you think too large and those you think too small are as good as you can get. After that it's all about acceptance. (Or dodgy surgeons with knives I suppose.)
It's why, when one is older, one has to decide between a drawn face and painfully thin limbs, or healthy looking face & limbs but a beachball shaped middle. Not that you have to be concerned about that for ages yet.
