Finished a course of antibiotics last Wednesday for a mild chest infection, had a chest Xray on Tuesday, no results as yet, Coughing like a good'n.

I feel much worse today, coughing more, chest hurts when I inhale, wheezing. Made an appointment for later today. I am a little worried to say the least. I am an ex smoker (10 years now) and was bought up in a family of smokers.

I know none of you are psychic but any ideas what they may say today?
TIA

you may need anothrt course of ab,s..phone your gp and ask to talk to him !
I think they may prescribe a stronger or longer course of antibiotics. I would doubt there is any sinister pathology, as they say.
It sounds like you may need a further course of antibiotics.
To help ease the cough try a steam inhaler from your local chemist, you can also google for 'effective coughing technique'. Ibuprofen should work for the sore chest.

I was thinking because the antibiotics didn't work it may be Viral and not bacterial.

I came across the "Effective coughing technique" daffy654 but I though it was going to sell me something so I didn't read it!
Will have a google now.

There you go icemaiden, a very easy to follow guide. I can promise you that it does work, I have to do this morning and night as I have Emphysema and have trouble shifting the phlegm from my lungs.

whats wrong trigger, no one else to stalk today. ? im not interested in your comments. best keep them for someone who " cares " :)
I had a chest infection a few years back that got a lot worse before it got better. It reached its most severe on day 4 of a 5 day course of anti-biotics. I was put on a futher course at a stronger dose and given an inhaler to ease breathing. These things can linger on for a while. Hope all well!
Two weeks is not a long time for a chest infection and cough to settle.

No big deal

Come back to us when you have had the result of the chest X-Ray.
excuse the aside but...WELCOME BACK SQAD !!!! Missed you soooo much mate....
murray, my love when I heard that you had been married to a fooballer, I thought................."She is the one for me"
Murray, Sqad didn't flounce, he was always lurking, that means he was still partaking. :-)

I don't think he's stalking or getting at you ann - If you read what he's referring to, it is actually quite funny.
