I'm currently in India doing the travel thang, and I know I'm not supposed to care about my appearence on such a life changing voyage, but I do!!!  My hair has gone not only very brittle but a revolting ginge colour.  Don't get me wrong I'm not a 'Ginge-ist', it's just the colour really doen't suit me.  So as I was saying b4, I'm currently in India, and if I wanted to dye my hair I have 2 probs 1st prob:  all the salons(if you can call them that) cater for Indian ladies locks 2nd prob:  If i did by some miracle find a salon my hair might fall out due to the straw like texture it has adopted, and people might confuse me as a buddah!  So as you can see I have a dilema.  The 'strawberry blonde' locks are really getting me down, I was suppposed to have Sienna highlights, God damn!!!!

How about getting your hair braided?  It should last a few months if you get it done well and is easy to look after, just use dry shampoo.  If you cant face not washing your hair, try finding some pretty scarves or hair accessories to tie it back with.
i dont know if i would recommend braids as when i had my hair braided when i took them out after about six weeks my hair was coming out in handfuls and that was my hair being in good condition so if your saying that your hair is in poor condition then id think twice.
it's probably the water..... don't colour it until you get home - tie it up/back.... maybe wash it less while you're over there??? your hairs own oils may coax it back to health.....

also, get come vitamin supplements (you may be lacking calcium??) have a look at your finger nails - are they brittle too???? if so, then definately get some vitamins....

Could it be the weather?? humidity, and the like??

Hope this helps??
