Would you cast a glance below to Halifaxmum under the heading "And the saga continues"
If you remember this is the lady with menorrhagia who had been denied hysterectomy because of a questionable diagnosis of Von Willbrand´s disease.
It would now appear that she has a factor 8 deficiency which although not impossible, is rare in a woman.
We would both like your comments.

Obviously without knowing the details I couldn't be definite, but if hysterectomy is indicated then it can be done, but with appropriate treatment. They actually used to do hysterectomies for menorrhagia "willy nilly" without trying any other treatments first. Other treatments should be tried first if they haven't already done so,(through gynae referral to make sure nothing else is causing it), but she can ask her GP to refer her to her nearest Comprehensive Care Haemophilia Centre, or local Haemophilia Unit (unless that's where she currently is registered).
Hope this helps.
