Weird feeling/sensation.....
24 Answers
Driving to work this morning I stopped at my usual quiet piece of road where I read my kindle for half an hour before I drive to work, (It's the only time I get peace and quiet!), when all of a sudden, I started to feel dizzy, but it wasn't the feeling that I was dizzy but that the world was spinning around me. This lasted for a few minutes and then went as quick as it came.
When I eventually arrived at work I felt ok. Then while I was mucking out the horses, again all of a sudden, I felt very depressed and sad and felt as if I could just break down and sob my heart out, but I don't know why. I managed to hold it together but since then I feel really delicate.
It's so hard to explain as I have never felt like this before. I'm normally a get up and get on with it person so feeling like this is totally alien to me.
I'm no more stressful that normal, been on all my current medication for a good while now so I don't think it's that. I'm 42 so I'm now thinking menopause?...could it be starting?....is this a symptom?
Does anyone know of a reason this could have happened?
Thankyou

A prominent and debilitating symptom of labyrinthitis is severe vertigo. ... Chronic anxiety is a common side effect of labyrinthitis which can produce tremors, heart palpitations, panic attacks, derealization and depression. Often a panic attack is one of the first symptoms of labyrinthitis.
I think your symptoms warrant going to see a doctor to get checked out, icemaiden.

> one attack of dizziness and all sort of bizarre diagnoses are spewed out
You are the medic sqad, but it wasn't just one attack of dizziness.
To summarise the OP, it was one attack of dizziness followed by a later almost overwhelming attack of depression and a now-persistent "edge of depression" feeling which is totally alien.

i had labyrinthitis and it felt like i was completely p!ssed out of my face for 4 weeks straight (with none of the pub fun beforehand). i doubt one episode of dizziness and tearfulness would garner a diagnosis of labyrinthitis or the menopause - she has mentioned nowt else. i agree with squad to carefully watch and wait....otherwise she will go to her gp with scant symptomology or evidence to enable an accurate disgnosis. but be careful while you are watchfully waiting. sound advice from a dr (squad) and a nurse (me).
