Do I Want My Ex Back?
23 Answers
I posted a similar question here a week ago but didnt get a huge response.Basically I was with a man who lives in australia I went to visit him last xmas and it was amazing we even got engaged. In mid January I started to have feelings for a friend of a friend and subsequently ended it with my aussie bf.Its been good with my current bf and I do love him but we argue a lot as he's possesive and jealous. Also I dont seem to feel the same electric magic I had with the aussie.
I know I have feelings for my ex still but I'm unsure of what to do.The distance is a huge issue for me as I hate to be alone which is made worse by a mental illness.I was willing to move to aus to be with him but I ended it because I thought if I had some kind of feelings for my current bf I couldnt love my ex enough.I feel very confused and churned up but I know a big part of me misses him
Any advice would be appreciated
TIA
p.s. I hope this makes sense

Boxtops I know a relationship can make anxiety worse and I am currently attending my second course of therapy and have been attending for almost 6 months. To be honest my mental health is worse if I spend too much time alone as I end up churning things over in my mind so I prefer to have someone in my life for at least half of the time but I do have independence and I spend time with family not just a partner.I will consider all the factors before I do anything. Thanks all

Hi catcuddler I don't think you are being fair to your current partner or yourself at all.
To be hankering after the Aussie ex and staying with him is wrong.
I don't think it's right staying with anyone just so you are not alone.
I personally think you should get yourself the help you need with your illness, then when you are stronger hopefully you will make the right choice because the person's right for you not just a crutch to lean on.
The Aussie couldn't have been right for you otherwise you wouldn't have got involved with your present guy.
As for present guy !"it's been good but we argue a lot as he's possessive and jealous" doesn't sound like a good relationship to me.
Give yourself a break, seek the help you need and don't settle for second best! we are all worth more than that.
New Year focus on YOU.
My best wishes to you for the future. x
