Shouldn't He Know Whether He Loves Me Or Not

My BF and I have been together nearly 5 years and he still doesn't know whether he loves me or not. He has not been in a long term relationship before and says hes never been in love. Shouldn't he know whether he is in love or not after all this time together? He has difficulty showing emotions and he admits that and says the reason was because his mum n dad divorced when he was 8yrs old and all he remembers is their shouting at each other.

maybe he is feeling love but he doesnt know it-or maybe youve both drifted apart a little. take a step back from him in terms of your feelings, -dont make him feel as if your hopelessley in love with him and see how he reacts to you-he may just reach out a little more. its horrible to feel unloved, and , just because hes been with you 5 years, does not default him to being in love with you, some men or women just carry on as they dont like change, or are still confused, however its likey he does love you

Nay, it sounds as if he has some trust issues. Allow him to open up, find the real problems he has. Do not pressure him into opening up,, if the time is right, it will happen. noone can switch their emotions on like a light

If his parents had a bad relationship he has probably isolated his subconcious feelings and cannot access them on demand. His actions will tell you more than a forced declaration of love.

I dont know if i love people, i assume i am capable of it because i like having someone in my life.............but if you dont see love in your parents relationships how do you know what love is.

i love my daughter...............i know i do because it makes me cry thinking about if she died............................ and im really proud when she does something good....................but i dont really have a "feeling" that i can describe.

I have a partner who i really admire/like being with and sometimes buy him a thoughtful present cos hes told me he likes something so i want to treat him......... and i think he is wonderful and i love being in his company but do i love him ?? i suppose so.........................
