My Daftest Question To Date. Lpg
How it Works1 min ago
In episode 2 after the masked dance one of the courtiers says: "...Their astonishment was complete your majesty, no other prince in Europe could have carried off such a subterfuge" - This is not the only place, it happened in S1 too a few times. Why was the King referred to as a Prince? It seemed like something normal, no one acted like it was wrong. Was it normal at the time?

Yes, I first watched season one to get up to date, I didn't watch it when it was on initially. It seems historically accurate for the most part so yes I am enjoying it though I can't help thinking that the kid out of "about a boy" is wrong for Rafe but maybe that's just a bit of type casting bias on my part.
I didn't watch it when it was first shown either. I think I thought it would be a bit of a kitchen sink drama - and I do hate it when writers turn history into that sort of thing and we get modern day dialogue peppering the scripts. I'm pretty sure Henry VIII would never have said things like 'As if!' As if! 😂
