Hi AB advisors - especially mammar and curly perm... i finally did it - today - his day of leaving! Sent a cake for the party and a nice pressie... Also phoned the school to ask him to call. Daughter came back with message of thanks and one of her friends told him I fancied him - he laughed. No call.

But.............. got a text tonight apologising he forgot to call me, did I want to speak to him still? I said yes, though not about school or my daughter. I asked if he'd like to meet up sometime.. I've now got his mobile and home number and will be phoning him Sunday!! Fingers crossed... will keep you informed if we meet. Thanks for you encouragement x x x

There has now been a telephone conversation...... yes we will be meeting up but no 'date' set yet. We're both busy over Easter but will keep in touch and hopefully see each other soon.

I have been following this and I am very pleased for you, I wish things would have worked out for me that well! I work in a college and have fancied a tutor for well over a year now, and nothing amazing has happened yet, apart from a couple of friendship lunches. My fascination with this guy has not and i dont think will disappear.

Hey Curly , thanks for that and I would like any advice you can give. I have given this guy lots of hints that I like him and he seems to like me but nothing has happened. In fact, today he asked me to go to lunch with him and a colleague, have just got back, at the lunch table he asked that I sit next to him so we could look at the paper together (and I thought wey-hey, he likes me!!)
I mentioned that sometimes in my lunch break I go for a walk and he said "hey Ill go with you next time"
Trouble is I really think he is just over friendly and thats all it is to him. When I look at him I feel a real connection with him, more than a year is a heck of a long time to have a crush on someone!

no worries liquidspace... my advice would be to go for it too - I was so scared of making an idiot of myself - but looking back the not knowing was far worse than actually making the call itself.

As curlyperm (I think) said - life's too short. Don't sit and wonder anymore... make a move!! If my 'teacher' had said no, then I'dve felt disappointed and a bit silly for a while, but if I hadn't made the call at all then I'dve wondered what if for ages.

Hope you have a good outcome like mine - well, so far so good for me.... x x

liquid, a year is a long time!! Why dont you just say to him one nice lunchtime 'Hey was thinking of having my sandwiches in the park (or whatever) fancy joining me?
And if he says 'No cant cos blah blah blah' well thats not too bad? there might be agenuine reason, then if he says yes, you can move it on a bit (out of the work environment) and say 'Hey do you fancy going to the pictures one night?' but i do think you have to step up yuor game here.
Otherwise he might thinkits you whose not interested, and the next conversation you and he have will be him saying 'Hey met this great girl on Saturday night' and he'll be asking you advise, at which point you will be kicking yourself!! Trust me! He's a bloke dont forget, sometimes a bit slow on the uptake lol Good Luck x

And liquidspace, I'm sure tallgirl won't mind me advising you on her thread. I agree with curly that it's worth pushing the "friendship" on a bit but keep it casual so you give yourself a bit of "face-saving" space in case he tells you he doesn't feel the same. You're going to have to continue to work with him. It will also be easier to hide your disappointment if you don't go in all guns blazing.
Oooooooooooo - I just LOVE these hopeful threads. I'm just an old romantic at heart.

Hi fayelc... absolutely nothing has happened!! There have been a few texts and a couple of phone calls (none leading to us actually meeting) and all intitiated by me.

Therefore, I think he's not actually that interested to be honest and coincidently I'm going to call him tonight or tomorrow to 'have it out with him' as it were as I hate just hanging around waiting. But, he gave me his number initially and when we're on the phone it's for at least an hour - so your guess is as good as mine regarding where (if anywhere) this is going....
