I challenged him and he said he rejected some girl who got his number. Trouble is, there are a about 500 texts. How many texts does it take to tell her no?

Sounds like he's having you on. If I received unwanted texts from some mn, who I wasn't interested in, I wouldn't encourage him by exchanging hundreds of text messages, I'd just ignore him and not reply.
