Move out with my girlfriend
2 Answers
Hi,
I am an international student from Australia. I transfered to Texas A&M a semester ago, where I also met this girl, and we have been dating for three months already. She is planning on moving out and she asked me to move out with her. I barely turned 20 and she is soon going to turn 19. Could someone give me any recommendations if I should move out with her or not. How's this going to affect me with my studies and my life. I really appreciate you time

So many things could go wrong - She's quite young to be moving out on her own, why are her parents allowing that to happen? Or is she blinded by love/infatuation and think everything will be fine and dandy once she's together with you? Have you ever thought of this?
I'm sure you've spent enormous amounts of money to acquire your education in the U.S. Suppose she breaks up with you, you don't have legal status, I'm guessing you're only there on a student visa. Also, how would you manage with lodging? And you might also be distracted from your studies.
There are so many reasons why it's is not a good idea to make this move. Your conscience is telling you this is not a good move hence you're asking for advice. Let your conscience be your guide, it's never steered one wrong.
I wish you all the best and hope you make a wise decision.

I tend to agree with figure here (hi figs!! x), because three months is really no time at all and you're both young. I think moving in together could dsitract you from your studies, BUT - I have a friend who's studying at Reading uni, and she lives with her student bf. They're almost into their second year, and everything seems fine, although both are committed to their work, and prefer to get that done before concentrating on their personal and social life. If you can be that single-minded, then fair enough, but these two've known each other for a lot longer than you've known your partner, and it sounds to me as though you have a few doubts already. Best of luck anyway.
