104 Answers
We have just discovered our dad is seeying a woman half his age (he is 62 she is 31) from Kenya!
He has been there a few times alone over the last few months and has returned today for 5 weeks to spend wiv this woman. He had a gf of 16 yrs who he has told he is in love with this african beauty! She is heartbroken and cant belive whats happening, neither can we!!
Could she actually be with my dad cuz she loves him or is she just after his cash?! I mean why would she be interested in him, dads eldest daughter is older than she is! We are all just concerned about this woman who may be trying to fleece our dad, any help wouldbe appriciated x

Maybe he didn't bring them up. Maybe they have an unconditional love for him because he is their father. Do you know nothing of the sanctity of loving and caring for your family?
Should my kids have to look after their dad in years to come after he fooked off to a foreign country and didnt bring them up. I think not!

Sorry but the hypocrisy is suffocating here. How many folk in their 30s or 40s would pick a partner of their 60 year old parents choice?
But turn it round to a daft old guy in his 60s and its ok.Hey if you wont let folk choose for you dont expect the choice for others.
Its just money ive seen it and raed about it so many times.Shes after his money they say.You meanj the money you expect?
well?
sorry i think its noones business but his own.

Well i have managed to start a debate! im 27 and dont live with my dad, and nomy dad was not around when iwas younger he left my momwhen i was 3 months oldandi had nocontact with himuntil i was 11!
I am seriously concerned for him and not at all for myself, i will be there for him when he needs me. Just wondered if it was a midlife crisis as he was on about a new car or bike before all this just seams strange!! he knows the risks and does seam suspicious of her love for him,soi guess we will just have to w8 and see what happens.

In my opinion, being a parent doesn't stop when the children fly the nest. I am still there for the two who have left as well as the four that remain. As long as I have the strength, I will always be there for them, and I worry now about how to divide up the house or keep it as a base for them, forever.
Yes, I do believe parents still have some duty to pass on to their kids what is left materially, not to let it slip into the hands of an opportunist, IF that is the case.

Hay, there is no need for you to justify the concern you feel for your father to anyone on this thread. You have asked a question and received some good advice and you seem balanced enough to take it on board. Most of us can see quite clearly that you are concerned about your father and this is perfectly natural.
Remember what i said about opening your mouth and confirming to the world you're a fool... Well I think you can see a willing example on this thread how that saying came about. And you know there's no debating with a fool so I wouldn't bother, let alone justifying yourself.
