I've been going out with my gf for 3 years and have started back smoking again - am 23 and had given up 2 years ago. I knew it annoyed her when I smoked before and she encouraged me to give up. I'm going through a stressful time righ now and don't want to give up. I don't smoke around her too much but she makes a point of always saying she knows I've been smoking and with the smoking ban now pulls a face when I go out to have a smoke when we are in a pub. Is she been over the top about it now? I still go to the gym and play footie so I do look after myself in other ways.

Doc, if the NHS didn't have to use up so many of its resources on smoking (and passive smoking) related illnesses, then we wouldn't need smokers' revenue.

Watcha doc :-)
I wouldnt want to go out with a smoker - its horrible kissing a bonfire!!
Awww - docs right.

Enjoy standing outside in the freezing cold with the other addicts, lose your girlfriend because you choose the weed over her, keep paying more and more in taxes and don't live long enough to get your pension.

doc....you are quite correct of course.....never mind everyone else's comfort. give me my "fags"

Of course the government like smoking because the majority will die of lung cancer, heart attacks and vascular disease....see, not only do the government get the tax, but they will not have to pay the smoker's pension, as the will not live very long....smart eh?

boo.....I thought that was a "tongue in cheek" answer....sorry.

no need to apologise sqad xx

It was slightly tongue in cheek. As a smoker I obviously can't bring myself to get het up over other folks' smoking habits.

I'm aware that the vast majority on this thread will think i stink, im disgusting etc...but well..to be blunt, I can't bring myself to care all that much ;-)
I dont care who smokes and who doesnt - the ? asked if going out with a smoker bothered you not if amoking was acceptable or not.
You have got something there doc.
You'll excuse me then, Doc, if, next time you breath your secondhand smoke into my face, I chuck up all down you? Because believe me, it has happened to me before and I am certainly not of a delicate constitution.

Didn't realise everyone would feel so strongly about it. I would only smoke 10 a day and as I said not round her. I don't even smoke at home - I go outside because it is the family home and I am the only one who smokes. It didn't bother me other people smoking when I wasn't - everybody has their own choice. The more people rant about it the more I feel like smoking tbh.

So, in a nutshell - we all smell in some way. Therefore veggies should date veggies, garlic eaters feloow garlic eaters and smokers go with smokers.

Bl00dy simple really innit?

This indicates that you are either very young or fairly stupid!

And, passive smoking is not a myth; I used to go to clubs and as I was the driver I didn't drink (no, not even one!). I always woke next day with a hangover - from the smoke!
And, had to hang my clothes outside to air because of the terrible stink.
Got it in one...sally
everything about your post tells me your back on the woodbines doc ;D
