Yes, and it doesn't automatically mean that the guy's bisexual. A young gay male can sometimes be confused by his sexuality, and be seriously attracted to a woman. It''s the same with some lesbians. They might be attracted to a particular guy at first, and then realise that it's not for them. A bisexual person usually flits between the two fairly equally.

A girl friend of mine developed a serious relationship with a gay friend of hers - he was a CHE (Campaign for Homosexual Equality) activist, and had never ever been attracted to a woman until he met her. They did try to develop a sexual relationship, but it simply didn;t work out, so they reverted to their previous platonic status, which suited both of them fine.
