If it was murder then yes.
Oh and anything to do with child abuse etc I would.

I agree, Tiggs. I couldn't defend someone who'd committed murder, no matter how much I loved them.
Betraying a friend or a loved one is bad ... really bad.

The "crime" would have to be even worse, to justify you commiting such a betrayal.
murder/rape/perv - yes......but would exact my own punishment first.

But what would you do if someone innocent had been convicted of the crime, JJ, and your loved one was roaming around carefree?
if it was one of my kids no i would kill for them
That's a real tough one NoMercy, it would all be about what when where and who I;m afraid.
changed my mind - for murder it would depend whom.
Got to agree with JAYNE on this, it would have to be really bad,
I too, would take the law into my own hands if was one of my kids or grandkids
We all have to choose our particular values in life, NoMercy.

One of mine is unquestioning loyalty to my friends ... even when I disapprove of what they have done, or disagree with them.

It's not a perfect philosophy, but everyone knows where they stand with me. I'm black and white loyal.

The moral grey area is something that I leave others to struggle with.

I'm not the moral guardian of the whole world, but it would have to be something REALLY serious before I betrayed a friend or loved one ... REALLY big !!

I wouldn't betray a loved one unless it was a very serious crime. But if it was murder, or rape, or something equally heinous, I wouldn't defend them.
yes
ive posted this before after the rhys jones murder in liverpool

i was shocked and disgusted that some parents would actually help cover up if their child had killed rhys or anyone else.

the excuse?

theyre family.

yeah but a murdererr whos ended a part of someone elses family.
Question Author
Absolutely, Leggy !

And someone out there knows who took Madeleine McCann, and could end her family's suffering by spilling the beans.
Jayne ive read these views from you in the past.
Im sorry to say you say you have strong friendship values.

But you have absolutely no morals.

Lying to coverup a friends marital indiscresions , in fact you said youd always lie for a friend.

Now this ?

Im shocked and disgusted at your abiloiiy to excuse anything for a friend.

Misguided , and immoral.

Im sorry but i suspect you could excuse anything by your reckoning.

Sad indeed.

Sorry but a totally honest opinion jayne.
I definitely agree Leg.
