Ideas please - ways to meet people/make friends

Sure we have done it before but what are the options. Be prepared for me to say no to a lot of them as I have probs thought of it already and discarded the idea for one reason or another. But I won't be saying no to be awkward.

I need to meet people so I need there to be a yes answer there somewhere

Pick an interest... any interest... Preferably not anything to do with dating or mobile phone communications.

You probably don't need to actively seek people - if you find something that you enjoy doing and do it you will naturally meet people through that with common interests

Thats a different thread Yogi. But yes I did. Bad idea. I asked him to use something once and he said no and I was like fine no sex but then I couldn't resist. He might have said I will use one if you really want but can't remember that well tbh. Wish I could.

Join a club that you enjoy.

When people enjoy something, they smile & this smiling is very attractive.

If you're doing something you enjoy with others who do as well, is a sure fire way of meeting like minded people.

Cuts out that initial awkwardness.

Oldham - you are quite right.

Rinkins - one old school friend and one housemate. Thats it. But neither relationship is great. Not proper friendships. Need to show them the real me that would be a start. Stop living inside other peoples expectations.

You could maybe start to build on those friendships, organise an evening out or something? They must have other friends too and then you could meet them. I find it hard to start new classes on my own, but once you do it's fine. Could just start with a fitness class or something?

MWB - the trouble I'm having is not having any interests.

Yes I just feel they won't accept me or like me.

Trouble with gym is I don't always have the energy to exercise. And there are not really many people my age at a lot of these classes. I want all ages and a wide variety of friends so I shouldn't be bothered about that I suppose though I could do with meeting some young people so we could go and hang out in pubs and play pool or something

OMG reminds me - I was parked in a car park last night and this car was parked behind me and I saw the left indicator flash in my rear view mirror and I thought omg is that a doggin signal and then I looked out the back window and realised the man had just got out his car and the left indicator flashed cus he locked the car lmao
