hello its ginger bird . again iv been a bit concerned in recent weeks and posts that m,y partner has been or not been carrying on with someone else. he wont admit it and insists it was just friendship and now he has dropped the bombshell that he wants us to try for a baby. last year this would have made me the happiest woman in the world but now it feels tainted in some way. am i being daft and how can i stop my negativity spoiling what should be a wonderful time please

No you're exactly right to worry about this.

If a relationship goes bad it's a lot easier to start again if there are no children involved.

Also the time when children are young is one of the classic times for men to stray. Their partners are tired and it's not the most glamorous time of your life. The baby takes their time and they get to thinking that they are tied in now to domestic "bliss".

You need a strong relationship to get through those first 4-5 years (and it doesn't get much easier).

Sometimes you see people (often women) try to patch a weak relationship by having a baby. It often ends up badly.

If I were you I'd find some reason to say "Wonderful but we should wait just another 6 months" and see.

State of the economy, swine flu, don't want to be pregnant at Christmas ya de yah
ginger if you love him then have his child.
Hi Ginger bird, the fact that you are posing a question about it, tells me you are unsure...dont rush into anything!!!
Well, you can look at it from 2 angles...

Women's intuition is something that should never be underestimated and if you have doubts, then it seems you will only ever be happy if you confront her. And then take it from there...

Or, personally, I always look at the positive... He's with you - making a strong declaration of commitment; so forget the past (cant be changed) and deal with the here and now.
