So you need to do enough exercise to burn off 3,500 calories (or eat 3,500 calories of food less to lose the 1lb of fat).
Bu note muscle is heavier than fat so you may turn the fat into muscle so lose no weight.

It's not really so simple. If it was-cutting out 500 calories a day for a year would see a 52 pound weight loss. It never will happen.
Cut out processed carbs. Replace with good carbs such as veg, oats, nuts and seeds, quality protein and fat( the fat that occurs naturally in food-on your meat, olive oil, oily fish)
Here is a guide to carb requirements with exercise.

Try making a few little changes to your day/week.....i was advised to put the highest heels i own on each time i hoover the house - it works the top of your legs and your bum muscles (you can really feel it afterwards). I may look like a bit of an idiot but its the tiny changes we stick at.....and the most important thing is the weight staying off :-)
One hour of moderate exercise=gets your heart rate up to varying levels=intense for short periods then easy level (called rest period) but not resting. Example is walking as fast as you can for 1 to 5 minutes or more if you can then walking easy for 1-5 minutes. You are looking for your heart rate to slow down then repeat. Any activity can be done this way. You can change activity, too by combining any into that one hour.
