Have to say a special THANK YOU to xsticher for those yummy recipes last month and thanks to maggiebee for the humorous poem.

March is a tough month, it can be easy to be good in January and February after the excesses of Christmas but keeping going can be tough.

Do you have any particular motivation tips we can share?

Here is last months thread

I keep thinking about the Ed's question of motivation. One good motivator that I think is VERY important is all of you. Your support and finger pointing when needed is very helpful for keeping on track. Thanks to the faithful few and onwards and downwards...it seems we have all been very good this week, so let's keep up the good work.

Hi Daffy,
I'm backing up Wendilla. We don't use the word diet, just healthy eating and believe me with your determination and exercise regime I am sure that you will succeed and also save money as you said. Why don't you see what books your library has on the subject or just use the internet and get ideas for a week's menus and see what happens. Keep up your exercise. For a variety of reasons I haven't been able to exercise since January and oh boy can I see the difference...hopefully I shall be beginning again very soon.
Thank you Xstitcher. As we are not experts on this subject all we can do is give advice and ideas. Sonetimes our advice don't work for everyone but it is worth a try.
Yes Jules that is right . I don't do calories as I don't get on well that way as I said everyone is different what works for me don't suit everyone.
For all of you who feel you are not up to exercise, can I recommend something called an Easy Line class. My local leisure centre runs this class three times a week and it is ideal for the less mobile/elderly/or like me, recovering from surgery. Aquarobics (sp) is another form of exercise which is gentle on the body.
Yes MRS O there is a centre in this area for elderly people which do all sorts of things like that dancing, exercise ect .I am sure most area's have them .
Unfortunately mine don't but then I am in a completely different country (countries) than the UK but I shall soon be working out again .
Not a chance in hell you would get me in an aqua-aerobic class mrs_o! Unless I could wear one of those head to toe burkini thingies. lol
I've checked for exercise classes in our village and all that is on offer is Zumba, I think that would probably kill me :-/

I've switched my Tesco Diet option to low carb as from Tuesday so i'll see how I get on with that for a week or two, i've paid for a 3 month subscription with them so I may as well get some use out of it.
LOL with you daffy! Not a chance in hell in me surviving zumba either.

Not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in to be honest. I've tried hard this week and kept my food intake in check but I'm hopeless at exercise. I try to get out for a walk round the block at lunch time and take the stairs at every opportunity but I've set foot in a gym in my life and not about to start.

Does anyone have any "how to get started" exercise suggestions for this very anti-social, self conscious, over weight, middle aged body?
Good Morning All, Aha....the result of eating lots of meat this week is one kilo up. Why did I do that....we are going to Spain on Friday for two months and I was eating the frozen meat that is just for my OH just to get rid of it....so you can see that the fish and poultry meals really do pay off. Hope the results today are better than mine. Onwards and downwards.....
Don't despair Xstitcher when you get there and in that pool again you will get back to it .I have just managed to stay off the naughty step with no loss but we know why that is so that is being rectified and hopefully a loss next week .This has put me back from my 10lb gaol loss so for the end of the month being 3 lb short of it but I shall set another target next week.
Thanks for the kind words Wendilla. It's good to have friends in the bad times. You, at tleast haven't gained so hopefully you will be nearer your goal next week. I hope I am lonely on the naughty step.
I am finally back on track and have lost 2lbs this week, think this is because I am now able to cook in my kitchen. It's not finished yet, but is useable :)
Good for you Jools....lovely to have a break from your kitchen, but lovely also to be back in it and I take it, it is a new one at that. May it only cook delicious and good tasting nutricious meals for you.
Am feeling great as I have lost 1lb! Doesn't sound much, I know, but it has made me very happy. So glad I found this group as the support has really helped me to stick to it. Onwards and downwards I say. Hope everyone else has good news as well!!
Well done Jules that proves now that your own meals are best as you know what is in them.

SPOTIT well done 1lb is a step in the right direction .I sometimes think I have lost more but when I see a 1lb I get a little despaired and then I say better 1lb off than on.
Well done spotit. One pound is good. I would love to be in your place. I'm glad to hear that you are pleased with our group and hope we will continue to give support and slaps when needed.
I may be joining you again on the naughty step tonight. Ive just had a big homemade choc oatie cookie. Im so angry at the moment about something it work, I just grabbed it and came on an early break to get away.

Well done you to you others who have been good.
Well done Spotit3 and Jules- congratulations and keep up the good work.

I'm still at work but I will post when I get home this evening with my news. Yes I have lost a bit (phew) but I need to discuss it with you all...... be back later.

Don't let it get you down naughty steppers, its a tough road but let the better weather inspire you to keep going.
That made me laugh.....naughty steppers.....
Well done all those that have lost or stayed the same. There is no room on the naughty step for anyone else as my big fat arse is taking up the whole of the step! Sorry but I am a bit down as put on 5lb this week - yes that's right 5lb! I had a horrible week and have been trying to drown my sorrows in wine and vodka so it is all my own fault though. Got to pick myself up and start again and it will be diet coke for me this week so hope to be back with better news next week. Good luck all.
