Onwards and Downwards March 2012

Have to say a special THANK YOU to xsticher for those yummy recipes last month and thanks to maggiebee for the humorous poem.
March is a tough month, it can be easy to be good in January and February after the excesses of Christmas but keeping going can be tough.
Do you have any particular motivation tips we can share?

I keep thinking about the Ed's question of motivation. One good motivator that I think is VERY important is all of you. Your support and finger pointing when needed is very helpful for keeping on track. Thanks to the faithful few and onwards and downwards... it seems we have all been very good this week, so let's keep up the good work.

Hi Daffy,
I'm backing up Wendilla. We don't use the word diet, just healthy eating and believe me with your determination and exercise regime I am sure that you will succeed and also save money as you said. Why don't you see what books your library has on the subject or just use the internet and get ideas for a week's menus and see what happens. Keep up your exercise. For a variety of reasons I haven't been able to exercise since January and oh boy can I see the difference...hopefully I shall be beginning again very soon.

For all of you who feel you are not up to exercise, can I recommend something called an Easy Line class. My local leisure centre runs this class three times a week and it is ideal for the less mobile/elderly/or like me, recovering from surgery. Aquarobics (sp) is another form of exercise which is gentle on the body.
Not a chance in hell you would get me in an aqua-aerobic class mrs_o! Unless I could wear one of those head to toe burkini thingies. lol
I've checked for exercise classes in our village and all that is on offer is Zumba, I think that would probably kill me :-/
I've switched my Tesco Diet option to low carb as from Tuesday so i'll see how I get on with that for a week or two, i've paid for a 3 month subscription with them so I may as well get some use out of it.

LOL with you daffy! Not a chance in hell in me surviving zumba either.
Not looking forward to tomorrow's weigh in to be honest. I've tried hard this week and kept my food intake in check but I'm hopeless at exercise. I try to get out for a walk round the block at lunch time and take the stairs at every opportunity but I've set foot in a gym in my life and not about to start.
Does anyone have any "how to get started" exercise suggestions for this very anti-social, self conscious, over weight, middle aged body?

Good Morning All, Aha....the result of eating lots of meat this week is one kilo up. Why did I do that....we are going to Spain on Friday for two months and I was eating the frozen meat that is just for my OH just to get rid of it....so you can see that the fish and poultry meals really do pay off. Hope the results today are better than mine. Onwards and downwards.....
Don't despair Xstitcher when you get there and in that pool again you will get back to it .I have just managed to stay off the naughty step with no loss but we know why that is so that is being rectified and hopefully a loss next week .This has put me back from my 10lb gaol loss so for the end of the month being 3 lb short of it but I shall set another target next week.
Well done Spotit3 and Jules- congratulations and keep up the good work.
I'm still at work but I will post when I get home this evening with my news. Yes I have lost a bit (phew) but I need to discuss it with you all...... be back later.
Don't let it get you down naughty steppers, its a tough road but let the better weather inspire you to keep going.

Well done all those that have lost or stayed the same. There is no room on the naughty step for anyone else as my big fat arse is taking up the whole of the step! Sorry but I am a bit down as put on 5lb this week - yes that's right 5lb! I had a horrible week and have been trying to drown my sorrows in wine and vodka so it is all my own fault though. Got to pick myself up and start again and it will be diet coke for me this week so hope to be back with better news next week. Good luck all.
