Onwards and Downwards Continues in April
Sorry we are a bit late this month busy, busy, busy!
I have noticed quite a few new members over the last couple of months so welcome to you all and we are glad to have you here to help and be helped:
JimJools, maggibee, notafish, daffy654, lillymoon, jules001, spotit3 and maidup
if I have missed anyone I apologise.
As the days are getting longer and warmer does anyone find it a bit easier to be good and eat more fruit and veg and not pile up on the stodgy food that is so tempting in the winter months?

Its really hard at times like this and the priority is with your sister, but if you can keep healthy too in between caring for her you'll feel more positive and energised.
Try buying a packet of rice cakes and have a couple with a little marg and jam whenever you feel like opening the cake tin or raiding the biscuits.
But what ever you do, don't be too hard on yourself, you don't deserve it. Treat yourself to a bunch of flowers tomorrow and don't bother to weigh yourself until next week. No-one here will mind.

Good morning all,
Still no batteries....hopping over one weigh in isn't good, hopping over too is really bad, but we are going to a place on Friday where we can buy batteries.
I am into my summer clothes and they fit so that must be a good sign, but the Easter Lamb and all that went with it was eaten with gusto ...not a good sign. Anyway roll on Friday and am looking forward to hearing how the rest of you made out. Onwards and downwards....

Oh dear Spotit......I am sorry about your sister and also about you falling astray....never mind we all do it but we don't give up. You should weigh yourself and then you will know what you have to do....you might even find out that the result is better than you thought it would be. That happens quite often here. If you have put on it isn't the end of the world and I expect that you know what to do. We are here to support you loose, and your loss is in a way ours too, so go for it girl, we're all behind you.
Spotit can't add any more than what Xstitcher has said. I too advise you to weigh as that is where the trouble starts if you miss a week. Not too keen on the rice with jam. I would not be content with just a scraping and just think of all the sugar in jam. I got a bargain of strawberries and was going to make jam but decided against it.Split them up with the kids.Hope you sister keeps improving. I am on the naughty step but I am not surprised .2 meals out .Family dinner on Sunday adds a 2lb gain but I will now rectify it for next week.
Sorry to hear your new spotit. Keep going though as it might help you cope also to focus on something else. Hope your sister has a speedy recovery
I went to Zumba last night and will be going again this morning. Hoping to get the weight off that I put on also after our lovely meal last Friday and the weekend. I dont want to be on that naughty step again. So fingers crossed for tonight
Good luck everyone

If one 'falls off the wagon' what you need to do is resolve not to let it get you down, 'pick yourself up' and 'get back into the swing of things' again. One can't expect to be a saint all the time, and I suspect the occasional short break might even help in that it encourages the body to burn off any temporary unexpected excess.
Naturally life events can throw you. I know I started putting on the pounds again after having reached the weight I wanted when a family tragedy occurred: but it is possible to take it in your stride, and so much easier than having to restart the loss again back from where you started. That can be deflating. I can only urge not to have other problems put you off your stride, if you need a lift, try to find different other ways of doing so. Whatever helps for you. Walk in the country maybe, listening to favourite music maybe, perhaps even getting on with jobs you've been putting off. Whatever it takes.
Or best of all, come here to be nagged about what you should do ;-) That sort of support is worth its wieght in gold.

Well I know I'm not in a typical situation at the moment, but the pre-shower weighing showed I'd lost ½ lb since yesterday (the post-shower one tried to make out I'd gained ⅛ lbs, but I'm wise to that trick and now ignore it).
And the scales show a 3½ lbs loss since the 21st, so I'm confident my period of unmonitored (in real time) gluttony has actually done me some good. Not sure how though. Ah well, back to the soup for lunch system I suppose.
