Onwards And Downwards Continues In April 2013

Hello all,
I heard the other day that fat-free salad dressing is one of the biggest "No No's" you can eat, mainly because of all the extra stuff they put in to replace the fat!
So as we are almost heading into salad season (even if the weather doesn't quite agree yet) how about some low calorie salad dressing recipies or even some interesting salads that might not need dressing?
We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.
Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Thanks Wendilla. I bet you will have lost a pound by next Wednesday. You're so determined, and you're a brilliant support to everyone on here... so give yourself some of that support :-)

Don't be disheartened girls. Now we have got over Easter we should get back on track. I have a huge box of thorntons chocs but not opened them. They are to be my treat when I lose. Now that the weather should perk up a bit we will all feel better and hopefully get back to our plans. Not sure of a weight loss this week as had a full roast dinner at my daughters yesterday and fresh cream choc gateaux. Onwards and Downwards.
I think my problem is being off work for 2 weeks with a bad back, boredom = hunger, im back to work on wednesday, back into my old routine, not so easy to snack being at work lol.
The only problem at work is we get sent out with clients for dinner, these clients will often choose fast foods, fish and chip shops and MacDonalds etc, no healthy option for me :-( Its a pain as the meals are free and I have to sit and starve and watch them eat lol.

Linda I have been thinking about what your wrote for a few hours now and have come up with this idea. How about setting a small goal for yourself..not your final goal but one that should be obtainable within 3 weeks say. Plan your meals for the week and when doing that also make out your shopping list for those meals. Do this planning every week. As you start to get nearer obtaining this goal I would think that you will find it easier to get back on track.
Best of luck!!

We also have a lot of lamb left ratter. I think that after we have leftovers tonight I shall carve it up and freeze in portion packets. Lamb is a very fatty meat and isn't good for us, but oh my it tastes good. Even if you cut off all the fat the lean meat has absorbed a some of the fat so there is no good news there.
Don't worry about spelling my name wrong - lots of people do and I won't even mention my surname lol. I have set myself a small goal of another 6 lbs before I go on holiday again at the end of April - I have done so well up to now and I have before and after pics to prove it (they are on my facebook page if anyone can see them). Im going to have to give myself a good shake I think!
Three cheers for me, I've managed to get through Easter without any chocolate at all! Whoopee. Mostly i've not given it a thought, but today I saw two little lads breaking big chunks off their chocolate eggs and I very nearly succumed. Thankfully that would have involved either stealing theirs or driving to the shops so i got over it and had a satsuma instead!
A week off work has been lovely but difficult food wise. We've had a few meals out and with this continuous cold spell, not much exercise. But i did have one day gardening and a good walk today. Fingers crossed for wednesday.
Happy Easter everyone.
