Onwards and Downwards Continues in June 2013

Hello all,

Sick of talking about the weather so as per a brilliant suggestion from xstitcher, what is your favourite slimming salad to eat in the summer (or any time of year).

Let's see who can put the most interesting ingredients together that are still low calory.

We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Here is last months thread

A pasta, prawn and celery avocado salad. use a large bowl add a good drizzle of olive oil, lemon juice freshly ground black pepper and sea salt. cube the avocado and add to the bowl, the lemon juice helps stop the avocado going brown and also makes a nice dressing, give it a stir to coat then add the chopped celery and stir again. boil some pasta, i use fusilli...

Naughty step for me big time, Ive lost my routine and will power, I have gone up 4lb :-(

I think this is all down to the move coming up, I think once we have moved I will be more able to focus, just so much going on at the moment.
Enjoy your lunch Wendilla and then get back on the bandwagon. We are cheering you on for a loss next Wed.
Took 4 readings to get 3 consecutive identical ones today, but it seems I'm down ⅝ lbs this week; which is better than the rise of ⅞ lbs that first reading was claiming !

Good to hear others have either lost too, or not gained. Have a decent Wednesday.
Sorry to hear Ratter.

Did it really take me more than 4 minutes to write my last post ?!?!?
Ratters you really must not be thinking about weight at the moment just try and eat sensible and not over indulge .Keep with us every week that will help. I hope all goes well with your move.

OG you have gone too Technichal for me again lol lol lol
You are forgiven Ratters. Just get that move over and done with and the pounds will fly off I'm sure.
Lol Wendilla, I think OG. is a bit like me, likes to see things in feet and inches, pounds and ounces.

I cant be doing with all this foreign metric nonsense, imperial was so much easier!
Oh it's simple Wend. Using a digital scale I see exact figures, I don't have to try to read a dial.

I weigh myself twice in the morning, if both agree then I trust them. If they don't I weigh myself a number of times until I get 3 consecutive ones that do agree.

If that happens after only a few weighings then I trust it. If it can't settle down on an answer I give up and leave it until the next day.

It's this blooming technology, never working right.
Well done xstitcher and OG for your losses. I'm afraid I am joining those who have stayed the same this week so perhaps too much celebratory alcohol after last weeks loss didn't help! Oh well, back on it and the warmer weather means a few more salads for the next week might be a good idea. Good luck all.
Jan after your very big weight loss you are going to slow down so don't worry you will get back on track. I have been shopping today and my shopping was all good things no sweets or cakes. But was naughty on the way back as my friend and I went for a mcdonalds so now I have got to do some work but I have all the ingredients.
As promised, I went out for a walk at lunchtime and mowed the lawn this evening. I work full time and am not good at exercising, so will be taking one day at a time. You might need to remid me in a few days time to get off my back side again!
Since I have joined (only one week with no loss) did anybody lose - think it is hard for everybody on this site.
If you read the posts from yesterday you will see that some lost and some stayed the same. It is a fact that it is hard to loose weight and that's why we are true to this site because we are given support and advice and we all work hard at getting to the goals we set for ourselves. Our light way of bantering might suggest that we are not taking our weight loss seriously but don't let that fool you.
Well done Maydup. I can appreciate that you are a busy woman and getting some meaningful exercise into your daily routine must be some serious juggling of other jobs. Even walking up and down stairs (perhaps at your workplace) instread of taking the lift goes under the heading of exercise. I used to do that in department stores, but mind you it is hard to find the stairs these days.
Hi conne I don't need to add anything else that Xstitcher has replied to you apart from you don't need to state your weight but how much would you like to lose. If you do not have a lot to lose you will find it difficult and therefore have to be really good to get a result. If you have a lot to lose it will come off quite quick for a start. JAN if you check back is well aware of this now as she steadily lost 6 to 7 stone but has to be really careful now. Good luck for next week.
Good Evening All,

I just realized that I won't be with you tomorrow. We are having the computer room painted and moving it out this evening.

I shall catch up with you when everything gets back to normal.
Still here.....OH decided to wait until today with the pc. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw what the scales said so weighed myself again....I've stayed the same after a bang up party here on midsummer's eve where I threw caution to the wind and ate everything we had to offer and the same with the drinks. I was so sure I would be on the naughty step so I am over the moon.
I won't be able to follow you today but am looking forward to seeing your results.
No change for me, but I did have a couple of off days this week. althought I'm doing better at getting out at lunchtime and will keep trying!
Scales playing up and not giving a consistent reading this morning. Obviously lost, but it can't make it's "mind" up how much. I'll retry tomorrow.
