Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

Recently, because of the heat particularly, it's been easy to eat salad. Why not try this herby Vietnamese salad-wrap dish:

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday.

Remember, we don't judge!

Total % is a dairy product OG. It is kind of like creme fraiche but with no fat and can be a mayo substitute or in this case a good wrap for your chicken legs...I use a hefty spoon full of sambel olek. The total keeps the legs moist.
Maybe it isn't called Total.....help me out here somebody.....
Well done to everyone!!! No-one has gone up this week. I'm maintaining my weight, which isn't easy, so I'm still looking in on here for good tips and recipes.
Your lunch sounds very healthy Maydup. I guess you and I will have to be satisfied with our ½ pound loss this week.
Well done Mallyh but don't say just a pound as it is a step in the right direction. It gives you a nice feeling when people comment.
I usually buy asda own brand of 0% fat free yogurt in a large tub but there is a Oikos fat free greek yogurt but not tried it .
Total 0% Greek Yoghurt is the business. I eat it most days with a piece of fruit - peaches or some raspberries. Its thick and creamy and superior to any other I've tried before. I admit its a bit pricey but it goes a long way.
How great to go down a dress size....well done you mallyh. You feel like a whole new world has opened for you don't you.
Ah spicy yoghurt coating eh. Sounds nice.

Meanwhile I really must try harder. Above goal yet again today. Unsure how I do it, not planning properly I expect. Glad others are having better progress.
Thanks maydup that's the one.....Total 0% greek yogurt OG...for your skinned drumsticks...
Good Morning All,

Get out the naughty step because here I come! Yesterday we held a belated birthday lunch for me and I didn't hold back!! I think it was the chocolate cake and the creamed potatoes that did it, not to mention the nibbles before lunch. I went up in weight to the tune of 4 pounds.....blimey!!
Yesterday I made up my mind NOT to weigh myself today but knew if I didn't I would spend the next week guessing at the damage.
I shall now shuffel over to the naughty step where I can sit and contemplate the errors of my way.
Happy belated birthday wishes xstitcher; I hope you had a good one and declare it a holiday week for you rather than a true gain! Nevertheless, i hope you have that step all to yourself.

I have managed to lose just half a pound, but at least its in the right direction I suppose. I'm enjoying the vegetables from the garden at the moment, plenty of delicious dwarf beans and courgettes are lovley to fill the plate.
Mixed results so far today then.

I've gone down 1 lb, but there again I had gone up last week so was hoping for better this. However I'm hardly ever hitting my daily goal these days.
Good Morning both Xstitcher you can't have a birthday party with friends and not taste the goodies. You have gained before and rectified it and you can do it again. Happy Birthday again.
Maydup in the right direction. I have stayed the same this week so that tells me after my 3 weeks losing that I must go all out to have a loss next week . I did have a Chinese at the weekend and a couple of bacon rolls when my grandson is here. So that is out for next week.

I sometimes despair at the difference between what I type and what the computer makes out I type :-(
Well done OG as you say it is from last weeks gain but it is better off than another pound on.
Don't dispair OG. On somedays these pc's seem to go into devil mode.

Well done maydup ½ lb down is just fine. I have just bought a salad book. I am going to try one with butter beans, chicken, green beans, onions and lettuce. I can only get dried butter beans so it is rather a many day preparation so hope to have it on Sat. I shall test it out before giving it to you.
happy birthday for yesterday xstitcher x well another 1lb this week so i;m quite pleased (at this rate in another 14 months i'll be at a good weight )
Well done Mallyh that is a good way to look at it as the slower you get it off the better it is .You won't be inclined to put it back on so quick.
Popped in to say hello and hope everyone is doing ok. I'm afraid I have not been following the diet for the last week and a half as I have been in hospital with a gall bladder infection. Never been in so much pain in my life! Didn't eat at all for five days, just on a drip for that time and once I was allowed to start eating again I didn't really fancy much. Got home today so I will weigh myself tomorrow morning but not bothered about the weight, just glad to be out of pain.
