Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

It can be really hard to stay good so lets have a look at some treats made with good stuff:

Yes I realise they are all cakes but everyone deserves a treat especially you lot :-)

Also remember where you have come from, most of you have already ready lost a load of pounds which is a fantastic achievement!

Don't forget your weekly weigh on Wednesday and remember we don't judge!

Hi everybody, yup it's that time of the year when we can gorge on the lovely pommegranate seeds. You can use them as a snack or put them in a green salad with avocados for a colour blast. Google "how to deseed pommegranates" to find out which easy method suits you. I like the water in a bowl and scooping out the white bits with a little sieve.

Hi Everybody, I just want to say that if I didn't have you out there I wouldn't have been able to walk past MacDonalds today. You really saved me from falling off the wagon mega time. I would much rather come on here like a prissy maiden and say.......look how good I was......than the other choice.
See how important you all are!
Same here xstitcher .i went to large shopping complex today where there are all the fast foods in a row . The smell was very tempting . Met in with a friend and went for tea and ham sandwich with salad . I was definitely thinking about tomorrow .
Good for you Wendilla....are we just little saints ha ha!
Well done Xstitcher and Wendilla for your super willpower. I hope it pays off for tomorrow.
Fingers crossed Marijn!
Could someone tell me how many calories in a slice of birthday cake, and how many 'good days' one needs 'in the bank' in order not to feel guilty ? Thanks.
Good morning all, I've stayed the same so it was good I didn't turn right at Macdonalds yesterday! I'm going out for lunch today to a bistro that gas a fantastic salad bar so I'll be safe there.
How many calories in a slice of cake OG. The logical answer is too many but if the rest of your intake on that day and the following days is what it should be you should be able to get away with it....can't help you out with the guilty conscience though, so you'll have to decide if it's worth it.
My 1lb loss was especially welcome this morning after missing the weigh in last week. I had Mum to stay for a week and we were out and about but both being reasonably careful, the result was good. We walked a fair bit, ate sensibly and although I had some chipswith my pub meal last night, its the continued avoidance of bread and desserts that really paid off.

I saw on another thread that its **** Happy Birthday **** to Wendilla today. Have a lovely day W and may all your wishes come true xx
Due to a surprise claimed drop over the last 24 hours, it seems I may have dropped 1½ lbs this week. Not really sure why though, but I'll accept it for now.

Congrats to all the non-gainers this week.
i am lucky to get away with staying the same after a meal out last week but was good rest of week so that levelled it out . Not going to be too good this week after I have looked in the goodie bag my daughter brought me this morning before she went work.I will forget they are there till later .Plenty cake to share if any callers .

well done maydup and OG .
Well done to all of us with gold stars to Mayup and OG.
A friend of mine told me about a woman she known that went to one of these weight clubs and lost an amazing amount and was awarded the "looser" of the year, but sadly after 6 months she has put it all back on again. I'm telling you this because here on our thread we are not competing to be the best which I fear can lead to a downhill spin when you remove yourself from the club. I might be wrong and stand corrected if I am because I only know about this one woman.
Hooray! I've lost a pound as well. Hooray for OG and Maydup too!! and to Xstitcher and Wendilla for staying the same:-)

Happy Birthday Wendilla
Well done marijn as it is my birthday I have 4 boxes of sweets from friends sitting in front of me and I just imagine the fat that will jump from them to me but I will be ok as long as I don't open them .just keep, thinking weight gain if I open them .
I can relate to that XSTiTCHER . Many many years ago I went to a weight loss class and lost 2 stone . I too was slimmer of the week most weeks . But it gradually went back on but this time I am maintaining much better although I am struggling with this last bit staying the same most weeks but better than a gain every week .i will do it .
Of course you'll do it Wendilla. You are blessed with preserverence.
And we are here to help. Now if your like to send 4 of us a box of sweets each, that'd sort out any temptation !
Excellent idea OG!
