Well done Jomlett, wendilla and Maydup. Have you noticed that it is a long time since we have had the naughty step out? This proves that we have successfully intergrated our new eating habits into our lives which is quite a feat! You should all be VERY proud of yourselves!! !

I have just done a small swede in microwave .took 12 mins . No mess . Just remember to put it in a dish as some moisture escapes . It tasted much nicer that boiling it .I would say a large one would take longer but you could always cut it in half . No mess just scooped it out and mashed it with pepper .
Marijm. I don't think it would make any difference cutting it on top as it is already cut there . It just sizzles a bit then ok . Best maybe to put the cut part face up . Don't know for sure just a suggestion
OG I don't think a small turnip will take long .try 6 to 8 mins then see if knife goes in easy .

Had my turnip tonight. Was a bit soft already when bought, bought the firmest they had. Should have found a bigger one. Ended up getting just 84 gms of flesh from it. Was ok though, no explosions this time, but there again I had to make my own (fresh) cut in that; the swede previously, came ready cut. Put salmon fillet & samphire with it; plus a bit of onion & garlic.
I assume you question mark is about weight Wend. There are two things. First it is still two high for me to be anything other than in denial, so hasn't been recorded. And also I didn't even weight properly this morning. Don't ask but everything has gone wrong this morning and hasn't stopped yet as far as I can tell. The fates are giving me a hard time today.
sigh
TOO high
Cheers. My biggest issue (aside from this morning) is that the weight seems not to have moved enough to be noticed all year. (I don't have the text file to check for the moment.) Down a bit, up a bit, up a bit, down a bit. And of late I can see I've been overindulging but not wilfully, it's just, well a number of things really. But there was no excuse for the weight to remain steady for most of the year.
Ho hum...
