Good morning!

Sorry for the delay on this one. Naturally, I have been working on perfect valentines treats that are not only delicious, but postable and mysterious, and this has taken up all my time.

Anyone expecting to be over-indulged over the coming week? Or is it oysters on ryvita?

I've also been trying something called a "slow carb" diet, mainly as a way to avoid being hungry. It's quite good and can recommend building a few of the "beans and greens" rules into your own meal plans a couple of times a week. It's especially good for days after a bit of a treat, where you can be a little too hungry.

How are you getting on?

Update: Weighed myself yesterday morning and was 16 St 13 lbs. I've lost a stone in a month and that's now a confirmed 6 stone in total.
Hadn't planned on losing another stone in such a short time but I'm not complaining!
Good for you CD.

Wish my weight was moving in that direction but it seems it would need me to accept an unpleasant restriction on what I eat. I'm down a little over the weekend but still above what I was a week ago. I should plot "progress" but I'm sure it's been drifting upwards for a while now.
Thanks OG.
What are you eating diet-wise. Obviously the cycling I'm doing has a big effect but as I said I'm mostly rice, couscous and mackerel, with the odd beans on toast here and there, plus chickpea salads.
Maybe you need a bit of variation?
Maybe. I do little exercise but I'm unconvinced that makes a lot of difference to weight. One needs to do a lot to burn up even a small number of Calories. I think one problem is, over the winter, I seem to be getting peckish mid afternoon and in the evening. I go for low fat/cal stuff to stop the pangs normally, but they still add up. Just had an apple, hopefully that'll last me until dinner.
Good morning all, I've gone down again to the next number and an pleased as punch about it. I'll have to be careful as I'm only just there.
Morning xstitcher and followers . well done keep up the good work . I have stayed the same despite a fresh cream cake that jumped into my shopping trolley but no doubt that will catch up with me so have to be good this week , Have done my shopping for the week so should be ok .
Chilldoubt well done .You will probably slow down a bit now towards your goal .
OG - muscle burns more calories at rest.

I watched an experiment where they got a range of people and shut them away. They were all fed the exact same diet to see if some people are more prone to putting on weight. They all gained weight at the same speed except for one man. Watching back the footage he moved much more than the others.
:-)
That's it then. Back to bed for me.
looks like I am getting up too early lol
Right, Ok. I was always under the impression that scales were an inanimate object, but I'm clearly mistaken. They are malicious. They have been lying to me for some time now making out I'm gradually gaining each day, but the last 24 hours are simply ridiculous and unacceptable. I don't now how big a sucker they think I am but I've no intention of recording their nonsense from today. If they don't buck up their ideas soon I may have to stop bothering with my weight.
I don't weigh myself. I go by how my clothes fit. Your weight on the scales can fluctuate quite a lot in one day.
Rarely this much and after a good 24 hour food intake too. Didn't hit goal, but was close to it. Just so annoyed at the moment.
OG - honestly, stick to weighing yourself once a week. Pick a day and weigh yourself after the morning bathroom visit.
It won't hide the weekly alleged gain, just leave me in the dark wondering all week.
ummmm is right OG, got to remain as active as possible.
Yes it's difficult to get motivated at this time of year but the clocks change soon, time to go walking and cycling.
Change your routine a little, do it gradually and you will see amasdive difference in a short space of time, honestly.
Best of luck.
Good morning all, yup, down 1/2 kilo so very pleased. Now my hubby weighs himself every day like OG. It does no harm and is what suits him. I do the once a week weigh in which I find suits me so it's down to whatever floats your boat.
Well done x.

Looking forward to our March thread :-)
Well done xstitcher .I agree with some people that want to weigh everyday . I don't as I would rather see my result for the week . You and I started this posts over 3 years ago asking for ideas and recipies for which we have had loads of replies but what other people plan for there menues is not always suitable for everyone .I tried weighing everyday a long time ago and food was on my mind all day long . Now with planning my meals for the week and writing everything down it certainly helps . If you do not do this it is so easy to ring for that takeaway which I well know . I also have a cheat if I didn't it would be boring so that is when I know I have to do something about it . I maintain my weight pretty well but do have a habit of staying the same for a few weeks which is annoying especially when I have been good all the time .OG has been with us a few years now and I cant see him changing his way now .It suits him to do it that way .

OG is presently in reverse gear and dreading stepping on the scales after his shower today !
