Today is the first break in the summer heat round these parts, which means that I might be able to actually cook something.
It's such a difficult thing to turn on the hobs or oven while the heat was in the high-twenties.
What did you eat during the heatwave?
We ended up with takeaways when the evening finally dipped in heat - or salad.

Not having the best of weeks this week. Had a way past best before date packet of whatever to put on chicken. So I defrosted some chicken from the freezer so it wasn't wasted. Ok, the chicken was 2 legs when the packet specified 4 breasts, but chicken's chicken. But it meant this was going to end up as 2 meals not 4. Prepared it all, slung on the spices oir whatever they were, and baked it all up as instructed with the onion and peppers: but that ended up as 2 days of quite a high calorie evening meal. To make things worse I had a mad moment and bought a large pot of a yogurt brand I don't usually have, without checking the figures; just for a change/treat. Turns out 1/3rd of the pot was even higher in fat/calories than the small pots of yogurt my woman buys (and that's saying something) !!! I still have a third of it left for later today. This is not going to be a good week; not hit goal any day so far.

From where I presently am ? Ideally 2 stone. But any progress would be nice. It would even be good to get back the the stone figure lost lower than I presently am, since I was there, my weight inexplicable jumped up, and I've yet to get back. Rather cross about that. Not that I help being near exerciseless, and not finding most traditionally diet foodstuffs palatable. I was hoping my intake would have reduced in the heat but I guess liquid also has calories. I wish I could stop feeling peckish mid morning and afternoon though. I usually catch up the weekend sins during the week but not this time.
I used the slow cooker instead of the oven. Chicken and gammon both cooked perfection. They were then used for a number of salads. Also did a pan fried salmon and pasta. My oven has only been on for twenty minutes in the last week.
Also, I have not had an alcoholic drink for the last fortnight. I got sick of drinking and decided to stop. I have been drinking soda and lime. When I weighed myself this morning, I was five pounds lighter than I was two weeks ago.

O_G, do you have much interest in podcasts or similar? I usually take one on a run or a walk with me - especially if I am trying out a route I've not experienced before.
I suppose finding somewhere new to explore and flaneur your way through is part of the key here. Can you drive out a little and then take a route from somewhere new?

Wow, Wednesday's come around so soon these days.
Was fuming this morning at yet another rise over the last 24 hours. Adds up to a rise of 2.6 lbs over the week. I need to analyse why, but a lot of it is eating the wrong things I think.
Not had a good day all week, but Sunday was particularly atrocious since I was given a bowl of strawberries and clotted cream; and I have no idea how much cream and what it was nutrition wise. I hate it when I have to guess. Didn't help in the pub Saturday night either when I was offered a bag of scratchings and I was too weak to resist: well I've not had a bag for yonks. Enjoyed it but ...
